Cascade

Cascade is a 2D sandbox where you can place and interact with different particles like sand, water, fire, ice, oil, smoke, and sparks.  

Each particle has unique properties, such as density, heat capacity, and temperature, allowing you to create realistic and fun reactions.  

There are multiple overlays to visualize temperature, energy, and particle states. Experiment freely and see how your creations evolve in this physics-driven playground.

Controls

• Left Click - Place currently selected particle
• Mouse Hover - Shows info about the particle
• [ / ] - Adjust brush size smaller/larger
• Spacebar - Pause/play simulation

Future Plans

Cascade is currently in version 1.0 — a playable prototype with the core particle simulation and basic UI.  

As this is an early version, some interactions may be unpolished, and not all features are implemented yet.  

We’d love to hear your suggestions for improvements, new particles, or additional overlays! Future updates may include more particles, enhanced visuals, and additional controls, depending on player feedback.

This is the first public release of Cascade, a 2D physics sandbox focused on particle interactions, heat, and emergent behaviour.

Features:

• Temperature-based simulation with heating, cooling, boiling, and condensation

• Multiple visualization modes: Base Color, State, Temperature, and Energy

• Minimal UI designed for experimentation and creativity

This version represents a stable core simulation. Future updates may focus on polish, new particles, and improved visuals based on feedback.
